Press release: VIBE Arts Fest 2018

VIBE Arts to Celebrate its 10 Year Anniversary at Ontario Place

Vibe Arts will be hosting its tenth annual free arts festival at Ontario Place from June 8-10 2018. VIBE Arts Fest will feature live performance, a gallery exhibition, vendors, interactive activities and a chance to network among Toronto artists and community members. All ages, especially families, are encouraged to come out and join the fun.

“We look forward to sharing the hard work and dedication of children, youth and emerging artists in our communities,” says Katie Hutchinson, executive director of VIBE Arts.
“VIBE Arts’ mission is to provide children and youth in Toronto with high-quality community based arts education. Now is a crucial time for the arts. Many communities around Southern Ontario lack the funding required to offer high-quality programming to young people. VIBE Arts Fest is all about celebrating the significance of youth arts and showcasing the budding talent of this city. As VIBE Arts grows and evolves, so does our festival.”

The theme of this year’s event centres around the fluidity of art and celebrates the cycles that make up our lives. “This year’s festival marks a special milestone.” says Angelina Bong, festival director.
“Giving a child the gift of artistic expression is the most rewarding aspect of our festival. To have had 10 years of this is monumental.”

The VIBE Arts Fest Youth Committee looks forward to sharing this year’s artistic talents with audiences. A group of highly talented artists themselves, the volunteer committee has been working tirelessly in preparation for June 8th. This year, they are pleased to announce a collaboration with Platform A. Platform A is a movement in the field of community-engaged arts, working to fuse the strengths and experiences of new and pioneering organizations.

Platform A is made possible by the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
