This is VIBE Spotlight: a weekly series that celebrates and shines a light on VIBE Arts’ roster of talented artists. Each Monday, our Instagram and website feature a different VIBE Artist and provide a look into their craft. Stay tuned and get to know the diverse talent that makes up our organization and community with #VIBESpotlight.
On this VIBE Spotlight, we’re shining a light on Matthew “Snoopy” Cuff, a Toronto Vogue dancer, choreographer, and instructor. You might recognize him from a feature on CTV’s Amazing Race Canada, or from Canada’s first official ballroom house, The House of Monroe.
VIBE: Is there anything you are currently working on that you would like to share?
SNOOPY: I recently judged my first online ball, Van Vogue Jam Arts Society’s “The Home Improvement Ball”. The best way to find out what I’m up to is by following me on Instagram.
VIBE: What has been one of your greatest accomplishments to date?
SNOOPY: Definitely voguing live for the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. There will be many more to come.
VIBE: What has been one of your favourite moments while being on the VIBE roster?
SNOOPY: Knowing that I was a part of many youth’s first dance experiences. It’s been rewarding to see young people come out of their shells and express themselves more.
VIBE: What are some of your future goals?
SNOOPY: I would love to tour and travel with dance, and receive opportunities to work on television or film.
VIBE: What is one of the greatest lessons you have learned thus far?
SNOOPY: Do what you love. Love what you do. Lead with your personality. Be yourself.
VIBE: What changes would you like to see in Toronto’s Art community?
SNOOPY: More diversity, I want to see more of my fellow black artists winning. Period(.)
