On this VIBE Spotlight, we’re shining a light on Glo Romy, a digital artist, designer, dancer and photographer.
VIBE: Is there anything you are currently working on that you would like to share?
GR: Recently, I’ve been creating typographic quote art. Stamped with #WORD2DAWISE, this project provides short yet insightful reminders related to self-compassion, motivation, and words of wisdom.
VIBE: What has been one of your greatest accomplishments to date?
GR: Last year, I was able to pursue a creative opportunity that led me to live in Amsterdam for six months. It was a huge accomplishment that allowed me to experience and learn from an unfamiliar culture, and opened doors to opportunities like styling an Urban Outfitters x Champion campaign.
VIBE: What has been one of your favourite moments while being on the VIBE roster?
GR: Receiving support from VIBE through opportunities and resources has been instrumental in my growth as an artist. It’s always great to know that we artists have a platform that looks out for us and our art.
VIBE: What are some of your future goals?
GR: Ultimately, my goal is to use art to help people navigate life’s ups and downs. I hope that people can continue to be inspired, and go on to re-inspire others as a result.
VIBE: What is one of the greatest lessons you have learned thus far?
GR: “Our struggles determine our successes”. – Mark Manson
VIBE: What changes would you like to see in Toronto’s Art community?
GR: I would love to see more impactful collaborations between differing communities.
