VIBE Arts x Cultural Hotspot 2019: Art TOgether

This summer, Cultural Hotspot presents a premier opportunity to showcase the talents of emerging young artists from the Weston-Mount Dennis and North Etobicoke neighbourhoods.

VIBE Arts is happy to announce its involvement leading four, 8-week arts programs for children and youth ages 8-16. A signature project of the Cultural Hotspot produced in partnership with the City of Toronto, Art TOgether programs took place at several community hubs around Toronto including the Boys and Girls Club of Weston-Mt. Dennis, Toronto Public Library – Mt. Dennis and Albion Branches and Albion Boys and Girls Club. The programs ran this spring and summer between May and June 2019. In these workshops, participants were guided through a series of free, hands-on art programming including painting, aerosol art, photography and mixed media.

Each workshop was curated by a local artist with the goal of contributing to a large-scale, collaborative piece. This finished piece highlights the efforts of multiple Weston-Mount Dennis and North Etobicoke community members and demonstrates the beauty of collaboration. A selection of the individual works created by Art TOgether participants will also be publicly exhibited at the Albion Library Auditorium for the Art TOgether Exhibition and Community Celebration on August 23rd from 10 AM -12 PM. We hope that you’ll join us for light refreshments and entertainment while you peruse the Art TOgether exhibition and mingle with artists and community members.
