YES, we rebranded! We are now called VIBE Arts!
We’ve reached an incredible milestone – 20 years in operation! The young people we work with expressed their interest in revamping our name to not only reflect our immense growth, but also to a name that they can better connect with. After months of research and testing, VIBE Arts was born!
On October 15 2015, VIBE Arts celebrated two decades of providing art opportunities to thousands of children and youth in Toronto, sparking their imagination and leading to increased levels of civic and cultural engagement. It was so great to celebrate and showcase the work of VIBE Arts, the young people we work with, and our future in the community!
TWENTY was a lively celebration that took place at the Gladstone Hotel and brought together 150 guests that included funders, community partners, VIBE Arts alumni, participants, artists, volunteers, and family and friends. Sponsored by TD Bank Group, the evening featured animated spaces with visual art exhibitions, interactive activities and performances such as dance, drumming, spoken word, and live painting.
In case you couldn’t make it to TWENTY, check out the video below that unveiled our new name and logo!
20 emerging artists took the role as VIBE Arts ambassadors and took on different kinds of responsibility the night of the event. They played a huge role in the success of TWENTY. One month prior to the event, VIBE Arts held an ambassador day at our office. It was a day filled with https://jetsnation.ca/account/ activities, art making, photo shoots and filming for our unveiling video. A special thank you to Brendan Maynard for taking beautiful shots of our ambassadors and Galen Brown for creating such an awesome video!
Check out the photos of the ambassadors here:
Remarks included: Duke Redbird, VIBE Arts Founder, Lola Rasminsky; The Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario; VIBE Arts Executive & Artistic Director, Julie Frost; VIBE Arts Board Chair, John Armstrong; and VIBE Arts artist and staff member, Balu.
VIBE Arts would like to acknowledge and thank the incredible support that we have received over the past 20 years from our amazing funders, sponsors, community partners, artists and volunteers!
