On this VIBE Spotlight, we’re shining a light on filmmaker Paul Ohonsi. Paul is a part of the first cohort of NExT, VIBE’s Black Youth Mentorship Program made possible by @cdnheritage’s CSMARI program.
VIBE: Is there anything you are currently working on that you would like to share?
Paul: I am currently working on a short film called “False Cures”
VIBE: What has been one of your greatest accomplishments to date?
Paul: One of my greatest accomplishments has been having my film play in the Cineplex.
VIBE: What has been one of your favourite moments while being on the VIBE roster?
Paul: Performing at the Fort York Visitor Centre for the NExT: The Future of Art 2020 exhibition.
VIBE: What are some of your future goals?
Paul: Some of my future goals are to create a feature length film and an animated film.
VIBE: What is one of the greatest lessons you have learned thus far?
Paul: Inspiration is only ten percent of the work, the other 90 is pure consistency.
VIBE: What changes would you like to see in Toronto’s Art community?
Paul: I’d like to see more art installations that push the boundaries.
