Chalk it UP at Cultura Festival 2016

VIBE Arts lead a free interactive chalk art station at Cultura Festival. Every Friday in the month of July a large scale collaborative chalk station was held at Mel Lastman Square. The event taught chalk art techniques, stencil-making, and civic engagement. Each week presented new and fantastic works that brought community members together and emerging artists who held pop-up artist residency on the square responding to the question “What’s Your Message of Community?”. The emerging artists and community members had the pleasure of creating chalk artworks on the paths of the square and engaging in conversation about their work. Chalk it Up is a signature project of Cultural Hotspot North York in partnership with the City of Toronto.
