‘Chalk it Up’ is our Cultural Hotspot 2016 signature arts education program that will give 9 to 13 years olds living in North York, unique opportunities to lead the creation of collaborative outdoor chalk murals and chalk art. The program is positioned for large-scale, city-wide public art making and sharing – all community and youth driven! Program participants will learn chalk techniques from professional artists, and create their own stencils while having fun in the outdoors. There are two program locations: York Woods Library with artist Kofi Frempong, and at the Fairview Library with artist Rob Matejka. Workshops run from April to June.
